Spring Hunt 2025

I had the opportunity to hunt with Remi and Logan from Trombley’s Tackle Box, along with Steve Emly from Rack Stacker and Home Grown Hunter TV. We set up the evening before the early morning hunt. We met on-site about 10 minutes early, which gave us enough time to reach our blinds, approximately 600 yards away, and set up the Avian Flocked Jake decoy on a breeding hen. Just at first light, a tom gobbled, and shortly after, hens began clucking and purring. Soon enough, three hens pitched down to our right, just 27 yards from our setup. It wasn’t long before the big tom left his perch and followed the hens. When he saw the jake decoy next to the hen, he charged in aggressively, slamming into the jake twice before throwing his beak at him. Ok, shoot.  Logan squeezed the trigger,” Bang” taking a shot from just 19 yards away! We had four hunters and two blinds, only 16 feet apart—what a spectacular display! Great shot, Logan! Congratulations! The Bestwood box call performed perfectly!
